Warren McIntosh
Director Asia Pacific and Japan
IPO Strategy
Warren has 10 years of experience Headhunting in the Asia Pacific region, including Japan, Greater China, Singapore, South Korea and Australia/New Zealand. Exclusively focused on searches within Enterprise Software, in particular Business Intelligence Software, Warren has a reputation for Integrity, Commitment and Creativity.
Warren has become one of the world's leading experts at successfully recruiting Japan Country Managers for North American software companies. Over the last 10 years, Warren has recruited Japan Country Managers for many companies including MicroStrategy, Greenplum, Hummingbird, Documentum, WebMethods and Plumtree Software.
Warren’s passion is to help emerging technology companies to “punch above their weight” in the recruitment and search market, consistently helping them to recruit and retain executive of far greater stature and reputation than anyone expected.
Once companies experience Warren’s commitment to their success, most return for further help to build and improve their business in the region.
For example, in 2005 Microstrategy asked Warren to find a VP of APAC. The result was hiring the Executive who started SAP’s ASEAN Business. Since then Microstrategy has called upon Warren to hire Country Managers in South Korea, Australia, Japan and China, plus numerous Account Executives, Pre-sales Consultants, Marketing Professionals and Professional Services Consultants across the region.
The basis of this success comes from Warren’s natural ability to understand the business and people; to understand the passions and concerns of both candidates and clients; to build strong one on one relationships with the Key Players in the IT market; and to create success for all stake holders.
Prior to IPO Strategy Warren started Silvercord Online E-Business consultancy working with SME’s to make the best possible use of what was an emerging technology. Prior to Silvercord, Warren worked for 12 years in the New Zealand Power Industry as an Industrial Electrician where he was responsible for the overhaul and timely restoration of Major Generating plant, giving Warren a very strong sense of the need to resolve issues in a quick and efficient manner.

Anthony LaFrenais
Managing Director
Responsible for Europe, North America and South America
Since 1995, Anthony has worked as a results-focused Executive Search consultant, specialising in Business Intelligence software and Emerging Technologies, across UK, Germany, France, Italy, Holland, Sweden, USA, Japan, Singapore, Australia and other countries.
Anthony is particularly proud that a number of emerging technology companies who became “early clients” back in 1995 and 1996, are still active and loyal IPO Strategy clients, even though they have grown into much larger, post-IPO companies today. Such long term relationships in recruitment are unusual and are the result of years of discipline, patience, honesty and accuracy.
In August 2000, Anthony committed IPO Strategy to “follow its passion” and to commit to the Japan Country Manager market - even though it was widely accepted that it was “too difficult for non-Japanese” and Japanese search firms were actually telling USA companies that Japanese candidates would not listen to headhunt calls from foreigners without a formal introduction. Since then, IPO Strategy has consistently succeeded in Japan where much larger retained search firms have failed (and we tell US companies the truth that no one else dares to say - that without the right Country Manager, most of the sales people in Tokyo are probably falsifying client appointments whilst they spend whole days in cafes drinking and talking).
Today, Anthony works on selected recruitment and other projects around the world. For 2011, Anthony has set himself a number of challenging recruitment goals for Europe, North America and South America.
In his spare time, Anthony enjoys yoga, gym, body balance classes, day spas, travel, art, quality literature, skiing, red wine and cooking.
